Description:
In Brazil, every 11 minutes a woman is raped and almost 30% of all woman have faced an abusive relation. Specialists and policy makers already understand how culture and behavior have a huge impact on those numbers, but still are short on collecting data and information that can direct decision-making. In this talk, Carla Link will share the journey of Brazilian women into abusive relationships and how crowdsource collective data can help women make better choices in different stages of this journey. We want to show how big data combined with successful stories can prevent or solve violence against women and inspire better public policies.
