SXSW 2020
The many faces of AI: Intelligent Digital Humans
Description:
Intelligent Digital Humans (IDHs) are computer-generated human characters driven by artificial intelligence (AI) who use language, have human gestures, show emotion and react to verbal and nonverbal cues. IDHs are enabling new, interactive storytelling experiences on all types of screens, including immersive interactive virtual and augmented reality displays. This panel will sketch the state of current IDH development and how the near future will see IDHs continuing to expand beyond entertainment to have roles as companions, salespeople or trainers, within applications for health & wellness, retail, and various service sectors. We will discuss the core technologies and expertise needed for digital human and AI development, as well as funding and other supports available.
