SXSW 2020

Reviving Healthcare through Service Design

Description:

More features of our physical lives become digitized every day. With that digitization comes real-time personalization, speed, efficiency – and expectations for a seamless transition between physical and digital that rapidly rise with each innovation. How can healthcare evolve to keep pace?

Ascension, a healthcare provider in the US, together with Fjord, design and innovation from Accenture Interactive, used human-centered service design to shape and realize a transition from one-size-fits-all health services to real customization. This forges a long-overdue evolution in the relationship between consumers and their healthcare providers. Such progressive thinking is rare in this industry, but it's making a tangible, powerful difference for Ascension, its caregivers, and consumers.
