SXSW 2020
Future of Interactive LIVE: STEAM behind Music
Description:
As a musician, mathematician and media artist, Sachiko has been pursuing the future of music. Through the power of technology and the belief that anyone has potential talent to “create” music, she believes new interactive and intuitive musical instruments could be born. Various ideas such as the tools to change tones into colors, the sticky SLIME music and AR instruments could be realized through the use of technology and mathematics. Mathematical beauty makes possible for any idea or concept be translated into music. The creativity of music and mathematics are deeply connected with Jouchu, a Japanese concept on aesthetics and senses. Interdisciplinary and essential new music is now emerging. Sachiko would talk about these movements with reference to her own creations and activities.
