SXSW 2019
Five Years of Failure in Music: Kicking Down Doors
Description:
We're two musical entrepreneurs who produce music that continually fails by traditional KPI's. Our LLC loses money each year. A year after our band formed, we broke-up via Facebook Messenger, and the break-up started because of Facebook. We show up to gigs and forget our music merch. Our prolonged onstage banter never mentions our website, email list, or social media channels. We got into an altercation at a folk peace singalong because we didn't have proper signage for our set that was time-slotted right before the singalong. Despite our foolish dedication to worst/failed practices, we persevere and have found people who persevere with us. We're sharing our worst practices to inspire faith while failing. Failing feels terrible but doesn't feel as bad as giving up on a dream.
