Play to Educate: Digital Platforms as Curriculum

Due to an overwhelming lack of resources, classroom courses are not equipped to teach students the necessary skills for joining a technologically advanced workforce. This means the foundation for a child’s successful future in the digital era is unstable. This panel will explore technologies available outside the classroom and how they complement coursework, as well as how technology companies and K-12 decision makers can innovate coursework to ensure children's success in a connected world.

Learning Objectives

  1. Educate teachers and parents about the importance of teaching K-12 students CS skills
  2. Generate awareness about using digital platforms as complementary K-12 educational tools and coursework
  3. Advocate for more technologically advanced coursework by implementing learning-focused digital platforms that teach K-12 CS skills
