A Tale of 2 Kyles: How Ad Data Exposed My ID Theft

In 2010 my identity was stolen. As is expected, it threw my life into chaos, complicating a home purchase, almost getting me arrested, and damaging my credit. I first realized my identity has been stolen when I received advertisements offering legal help for a DUI that I didn’t have. But what’s craziest is how the ID theft affected my digital life. Starting then and continuing to this day, my identity is tangled up with another real Kyle Britt. And you wouldn’t believe how hard that is to fix.
