Managing Conflict in Open Source Communities

How do different open source software communities deal with disagreements and conflicts? This session will bring together representatives of several open source community working groups to talk about the tools and techniques they use to manage conflicts and the various challenges they’ve faced while working to help keep their projects friendly, welcoming, and inclusive places for large and diverse communities of contributors from around the world.

  1. What are some of the different ways that open source projects address conflicts between community members?
  2. How do open source communities work to curb harassment and abuse in a way that also supports freedom and openness?
  3. What are some of the tools and techniques that open source communities use to help promote positive collaboration and inclusivity?
