Arts Education - Who Gets It & Why It Matters

In 2016-17, the Los Angeles County Arts Ed Collective collected data about the quality, quantity and equity of arts education from schools and school districts across LA County. This presentation will focus on findings from our analysis and what it reveals about the distribution of arts instruction in LA County.
The LA County Arts Education Collective is the LA County Arts Commission’s arts education initiative, in partnership with the LA County Office of Education.

Learning Objectives

  1. Discover who is and who is not getting arts education in LA County public schools
  2. Learn how to tackle the challenges of collecting arts education data
  3. Explore why arts education still matters in today's world
