Why Does Shopping for Healthcare Suck??

Shopping for health care sucks. Consumers do not shop for health care as they shop for retail, travel, or real estate because it often only happens when there’s a health emergency. But the tides have turned and the consumerization of healthcare is on it’s way regardless of what way the ACA policy debate swings.

This panel brings together diverse voices who have built real consumer platforms to find care. From improving design, the accuracy of provider data to increasing transparency and access

  1. Why is the healthcare industry still 20 years behind technologically?
  2. What does the consumerization of healthcare mean and how will benefit everyone involved -- from health plans to regulators and consumers?
  3. What can tech, design, and government do to enhance the shopping experience?
