How Fanfiction Is Taking Over the Classroom

Fanfiction has become a literary genre unto itself, paralleling "traditionally published" fantasy, science fiction and Young Adult storytelling.
More and more, teachers at the elementary and high school levels are bringing fanfiction into the classroom, as a creative writing exercise or form of literary analysis.
Professor Anne Jamison and Intellectual Property attorney Heidi Tandy - who've written for SmartPop Books' new "How Fanfiction Is Taking Over the World" - look at possible classroom usages of fanfiction and the legal issues that impact this form of storytelling inside and beyond the classroom.
