Beyond the Black Square: Brands’ Racial Reckoning

Description:

Consumers have spoken: Business must address systemic racism. 2020’s reckoning on racial injustice created a new mandate for brands and corporations. In the wake of several brutal killings of unarmed Black Americans last summer, Edelman stood up a racial justice communications taskforce to help colleagues and clients not only meet the moment, but work to dismantle systemic racism. Will businesses keep their Instagrammed promises to “do better?” Our panel of marketing, PR, and media experts will discuss the future of brands and marketing in this new context for business and how companies can go beyond the black square to demonstrate their commitment to racial justice.
