SXSW 2021
Pass the Rock: Sports, Music, Work, & Equality
Description:
Some of today's biggest sports stars have become today's biggest moguls. Why is that? It's not just about big endorsement deals and heaps of cash to play with - athletes are trained to see multiple pathways in front of them, shrug off adversities, and improve relentlessly. Additionally, just as teams recruit based on pure talent, businesses can achieve better equity and racial diversity if they do the same - a playbook we can all follow. This panel will explore the links between court/field success, the power of diverse and communicative teams, and the drive to succeed in business - all through the lens of passion and education.
