Synthetic Reality: Does the Real ‘You’ Matter?

Description:

Our social media feeds are increasingly filled with synthetic abstractions of our true selves. We tune, age and manipulate our faces. We use emojis and avatars to mask or experiment with our identity. And we interact with wholly-synthetic characters like Lil Miquela. Social media has become the arena where human and synthetic converge, erasing the line between these two separate realities that no longer seems to matter. This talk will explore the nature of identity and the influence this new synthetic reality is playing on society. This panel is made up of 3 founders building in the synthetic space and is moderated by a VC actively investing in the space.
