This is an important topic, as technology is moving beyond the realm of mere entertainment and utility. Realizing that we can use the social media tools we love and create to not only make money but to make life better in a truly holistic sense is the key to the growth and sustainability of our industry.

Great panel idea Michelle. I'd like to hear of specific real-world examples of technology being used. I'm also interested in not only the 'big win' stories, but also about failures and what was learned from them.

Great panel idea. I think a panel that helps non-profits should really get selected to keep it even
Hi everyone - I'm really excited about this topic especially since I've started writing for the Pop!Tech blog, where I'm meeting some truly amazing people doing world-changing things.

Some of those world-changers have agreed to be on my panel: Garlin Gilchrist who runs thesuperspade.com and Rob Reed, the brains behind maxgladwell.com. I'm also talking to a few others and will announce them here when I know for sure!

Thanks for your feedback about what you'd like to hear. I think this is going to be an great conversation with some really inspiring folks. Hope to see you in Texas!

Between the Social Media for Social Change blog and Michelle's PopTech! work, there's such a wide variety of ways social tools can be applied that you can't help but walk away with some new ideas. This panel is gonna rock.

Social media has definitely bridged the gap and broken all barriers in regards to sustainable development in Africa. I look forward to your panel on how technology is enabling individuals at the BOP to participate in globalization.
