Description:
Pictures speak louder than words. Designers know that, scientists know that, even lawyers know that. So what's with the business people? This session provides a portable and universal visual-thinking tool kit that can be applied to almost any problem anywhere, anytime... and help anyone "get" the power of pictures.

I've seen the advance copy of Dan's March '08 book and its amazing. He has given visually stimulating talks at Google, eBay, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems and other Fortune 500 companies and conferences. Let's see him at SXSW!

Just hearing (and seeing) Dan's view of the world makes the trip worthwhile.

How do you get - and keep someone's attention? How do you help people get work done more effectively? There are lots of tools to create amazing visuals. Dan shows people how to think before they start.

I use to work with Dan and have seen rough edits of his book, Back of the Napkin. His smart and inventive take on problem solving and communication is matched only by his fun and expressive approach to getting doing it. He's prefect for SXWS. Bring him on.

Dan has helped us explain complicated concepts through the use of simple, yet powerful illustrations. Communicating ideas with pictures gets results. The visual thinking tool kit a great way to create presentations that stand out from the crowd. If Dan presents at SXWS, I'll be there!

Dan is smart, entertaining, funny and a great speaker. I haven't seen his book but have seen his web site and like the way he thinks. Please bring him to SXWS!!

Ever seen one of the UPS Whiteboard TV ads? Dan is that man. OK, not exactly -- but he could easily have been cast as him. Give Dan any life problem, and he will solve it with pictures. Give him a business problem, with a little bit of data, and a splash of interactivity, and he will blow your mind with a million dollar chart. SXSW NEEDS this panel.

Dan is so inspiring -- he cheerfully and unpretentiously will blow your mind with his creative problem-solving approach. He doesn't just talk the talk -- he draws the pictures. Line him up for what I'm sure will be merely the first stop on a successful book tour.

Where Edward Tufte left off, Dan Roam picks up, with a fresh and refreshingly direct way of making the obscure obvious, the complex comprehensible. Dan is the only guy I know who can actually illustrate strategy. Run, don't walk, to his talk.

If SXSW doesn't have Dan then we will bring him to China. What he does breaks the language barrier. We need him here but we will let SXSW have him first!!

At long last, Dan has crafted a unique way to share his expertise in visual communications with the rest of us. Viva "Back of the Napkin"!!

Dan has a wonderful gift for using elegant and creative visual elements to communicate complex ideas. Having him share his techniques and insights will be of great benefit to the attendees.
I know Dan for a long time now, he is very creative and gives a lot of inspiration. Even in The Netherlands they know him! They really cannot do without him at the SXSW, it is a must to have him there.

There are only a handful of people in the entire world who can bring the equivalent of Dan's expertise in visual communication combined with his engaging storytelling ability. I predict that Dan Roam will be the Hans Rosling of SXSW 2008. Quote me.

Dan is a great speaker, and has a unique way to get his point across to an audience in a fun, yet meaningful way. This is information that everybody needs and will use, they just don't know it yet. Would be a welcome addition to an already informative conference.

He's a speaker for today's visionaries, the thinkers, the people who turn ideas into action. If a picture says a thousand words, Dan has made a craft of creating the executive summary, and teaching others how to do it too.

Dan is one of those unusual people who's an incredibly strong strategist, designer and communicator all bundled together. I'm confident his presentation will be brilliant.
