| Description | In a 24-hour hackathon, you've got one day to concept and build something. At the end of the day, you can't just present a written concept or fancy PowerPoint describing what you want to make—you must create working software and demonstrate it. Working under an extreme deadline forces you to cut corners, to make compromises, and to eliminate functionality. But it also forces you to simplify your ideas and focus on the core user experience. This presentation will address ways you can incorporate the hackathon into your creative development process—to rethink a brand, quickly build ideas from scratch, and brainstorm ways to incorporate new and emerging technologies into an existing brand. You'll also learn how the hackathon can be an invaluable tool for evaluating and nurturing internal talent, as well as for recruiting new talent. Finally, you'll get a step-by-step guide on how to run hackathons inside your own company, based on past trial and error. |
