Description Taking your television series to the web provides many unique challenges. Should video content be offered in clips or full episodes? How frequently will new content be published? What additional non-video content will viewers find useful? Who will provide and update the web content? The recent launch of Wordpress 3.0 revealed a much more robust CMS than previous iterations. Custom post types allow for more flexibility and control, making Wordpress 3.0 ideal for websites supporting television programs. By creatively leveraging Wordpress 3.0’s new capabilities, you can give television producers the ability to update and maintain their own content rich websites. We’ll discuss the many benefits of moving your television series' website to Wordpress 3.0, including developing content types (episodes, featured guests, clips, additional web-only content), working with online video, customizing the Wordpress admin panel, and creating your content distribution plan. We will walk through the transition using new television series' (ACL Presents Satellite Sets, Central Texas Gardener, Overheard with Evan Smith, etc) produced at KLRU as examples.
