| Description | I would like to introduce you to TYPO3, an open source project getting a lot of attention in Europe. The community supporting TYPO3 is growing fast, local communities called „user groups“ are established all over the world. Why do I love to work with TYPO3? Clients or editors will enjoy adding or changing content using the Frontend Editor. There is no need for lengthy explanations. TYPO3 does not interfere with the structure, look or feel of the website. It performs nicely with small projects and provides powerful technology for large websites of global players. Take for instance the websites of Sixt (car rental), Lufthansa or Porsche. So why not use TYPO3 for your next web project? In order to get a feeling for pros and cons of TYPO3 I want to compare it to another „new kid on the block“, the open source CMS Silverstripe. It is still rather unknown but more and more web developers choose Silverstripe as their favorite tool. Both TYPO3 and Silverstripe have been part of Google Summer of Code. |
