License Your Music and Be a Music Publisher

Event Music 2011
Format Panel
Organizer Andy Lykens Non-Stop Music (a div. of Warner/Chappell)
Description The panel will focus on giving independent artists the tools they need to get their music licensed in Advertising, TV, and film, as well as ideas about using their musicianship to generate real dollars through licensing. I'll also talk about how to start a music publishing company which will increase royalties for anything from licensing to record deals. Artists will get advice on how to set up their own company as well as how to go about finding music supervisors and contacting them for licensing opportunities. There are some key ingredients to licensing music in media and I'll explain them in detail on this panel. I'll also divulge some insight on how to offer songs, or craft them, to make them more advertising-friendly (and therefore more commercial).
