Description:
A few years ago everyone wanted to work from home. Now we realize, working alone sucks. What new resources and communities, both online and off, are enabling workers to really step up their game. Coworking spaces are opening everywhere and playing a central part in this new way of doing business.

I think this serves the "offline social networking" crowd quite well!

CoWorking is a fantastic idea and I'm thrilled to see it spread. A talk at SXSW could inspired lots of new people. Vote it up!

Coworking is quite the amazing idea. I know that I'm involved myself and I am not even an independent worker... yet. Talking about this at SXSW would be a great help to all of the other people around the world who need a place to work -- not just in their bedroom or a cafe -- but a place to share ideas with other, real people.

I think Alex does co-working right! I think that he should speak about it at SXSW!

I too believe Alex is a good fit. Of course, I could be up there too ;-)

I think this would be great. I've worked at some of these spaces and it's been very productive.

Alex and his gang at Independents Hall are taking coworking from the small-scale realm of "gee what a neat idea" and donation/charity into the realm of real sustainable business, and really shaking up Philadelphia. Many people in many cities could totally learn from these guys -- you totally should have these guys speak.

thanks to everyone for the great comments. @Ken, there were plenty of others before us who took it past "gee what a neat idea", we just put our own spin on it. We learned everything we knew from the existing community, and acted on it. Coworking isn't about Independents Hall, or me, but instead the power of a community with a shared mission to help change the way people are working, and for the better. we're just doing anything we can to show the world that it's not as scary as they think :-)
