John Vars , Dogster
Description:
Building a team from founders into a thriving start-up with employees, investors and customers requires deep understanding of your team members' motivations. How do you create an environment of creativity? How do you keep your team engaged and intense? How do you balance different roles and responsibilities at a start-up?

This is the real deal. I've seen John struggle with these questions, and I'm pretty sure he has some not-so intuitive answers. This is worth checking out, and is a panel that stands out from a lot of the topics out there.

Dogster is *exactly* the kind of start-up you want to learn from and emulate. John and the team there are also master collaborators, and I'm looking forward to seeing the team he brings together for what will be an excellent panel.

I've worked with John and know how passionate he is about this topic. It's also part of my own professional passion - how to turn your company into an exceptional workplace that you and you co-workers love going to. It makes sense all around - more fun, higher commitment, more creativity, more success...

This should be good. I've often found that founders are often out of step with what their employees are thinking/feeling/talking about, and bridging that potential gap through growth is a real feat. I'm interested to hear about Dogster's approach.

I think this is an extremely relevant topic for SXSWi. I would love to hear what's said, or even be a part of this panel.
