This panel is one whose time has come - PR as a profession needs to wake up and take a cold, hard look at how its role has changed and what all those changes mean. Nicole is the right person for such a wake up call...

This is a topic that must be discussed and I couldn't think of a better person to lead the charge.

Nicole has identified one of those "strategic marketing" concepts that executives need to pay attention too, so this will be a great session at SXSW.

As companies embrace social media programs, the PR department is the appropriate part of the marketing communications operation to run this program.

This makes it important for PR to coordinate with the outbound efforts of the advertising program and the inbound activities of the Web site operation.

And, Nicole is one of the industry leaders in helping an audience understand how to benefit from a coordinated marketing communications operation.

I love all the comments. I think this is going to be a really through provoking discussion that can lead to action, not just more theory and hand-wringing. And, with the meltdown happening in PR agencies and their growing dependency on Social Media, it's more crucial than ever for PR people to learn to shift the way they approach their craft. Hope to see everyone there!

A topic near and dear to my heart. We come against the Marketing/PR blur over the dinner table and with clients. Social Media is here to stay. Old school pros better get used to it.
