Web Mail - Is There Room Left to Innovate?

Description:
Web mail has been around the block, and everybody’s got it. Its role may be narrowing to the place you manage online bills, shopping, travel, and photos with mom, with conversations migrating to social networks and IM, but companies are still pounding the digital pavement for new users. If web mail isn't going anywhere, where does it go from here?

That's a great question... is there room to innovate??

I know one person who *definitely* thinks there is room to innovate: Josh Baer, CEO of OtherInbox.com. He's going to be joining us on this panel, and I'm sure will have some interesting ideas about the future of email.

Ooh I'm looking forward to this one! Email has kind of stagnated since the introduction of email authentication - what's next? Social media is popular but you still need an email address to sign up for everything and its still the "home" of your online life. More and more, things we do in the physical world leave a digital papertrail. We're just going to get more and more email and we need better ways to organize and process it.

Tell me your thoughts about innovation in email @joshuabaer or @deliverability

surely the answer to this question entirely depends on Google Wave and whether or not that becomes Mainstream or just for 'niche' areas? It's true that e-mail hasn't changed and is basically still based on our postman delivering your mail through the letterbox. However, for the ordinary newbie to computers in general, that makes its concept easy to grasp.
