We're still in the process of finalizing who will be on the panel, so I will update when we have the details.

On our background: We're a small natural-language startup based in Dallas aiming at taking semantic technologies (NLP, SemanticWeb) to the web. We think current search technology only scratches the surface of what's possible, so we're out to explore new ways of thinking about search and discovery.

We're big believers in the power of natural language processing -- and how it can be used to provide the knowledge necessary to go out and find the specific information users are looking for. And by NLP, I mean *NLP*: Swingly extracts more than 2000 different types of names and more than 500 different types of attributes, events, and relationships. That's a far cry from what other providers are offering these days.

We think that that commitment to large-scale, wide coverage NLP is what's necessary to extend semantic web-style resources to *all* of the web.

Great topic and timely -- the semantics of the web have been on the cusp for a long time, and with swingly and others (like our own Semantica), it's finally returning on its promise.
