Sounds better than the usual stuff - a chance for real discussion.

My two cents: take a look at "Designerly Ways of Knowing" by Nigel Cross of The UK's Open University (or any of his many academic papers) - he's studied product designers for years, as have others, and summarises some useful research...

We always have heated discussions with our web designers and programmers as to what will work best. Our designers on Compareaway.com always complain that their designs are altered when the programmers get hold of them. Who would be a designer?
