Henry Copeland , Blogads
Description:
Web 2.0 and social media jargon are irresistible to advertising hacks. 2007 saw a boom in ad campaigns abusing words like widget, blog, mashup, and consumer-generated. if this session is approved, I say have it at the end of the day, near somewhere that serves beer.

I think we should stop abusing (and misusing) the original meanings of web language and technolonology terms for the purpose of "good advetising." This only creates a problem for the media to dissect between what is real and what's not.If this session is approved, I urge people like Mr. Copeland to speak about the dangers of advertising hacks and the wrong impression(s) it gives the public. Thank you.

fantastic--smarter advertising benefits all the actors in the web 2.0 theater.

There was a recent Mediapost article mentioning that only 19 percent of commercial marketing viral campaigns actually achieved their goals. Consumers are starting to see through fake viral efforts. Seeing what works is fun, but seeing what doesn't work -- and, even better, what failed miserably -- is a great panel idea. I'm for it!

This is a must-attend. You always learn more from the blunders than you do from the successes, so I for one will definitely attend this panel!
