This is a not to be missed panel featuring some of the most influential women in tech and social media - Charlene Li (formerly of Forrester Research and now running her own firm, the Altimeter Group, Susan Mernit formerly of Yahoo, Lynne D. Johnson, Director of Social Media for Fast Company, and Connie Reece, founder of Social Media Club International the Chief Community Officer at New Media Labs. The panel will be moderated by Allyson Kapin, the founder of the Women Who Tech TeleSummit and the online communications and technology firm Rad Campaign.

Breaking through the digital ceiling is a hot button issue that needs to be talked about more openly at conferences and SXSW is the perfect format to have this dialogue. See you in March!

"But can't we just add a panel on mommy blogging?"

Too often tech conferences have simply refused to address the gender dynamics of their planning, setup and execution. SXSW can be a force for good here, and explore ways to address concerns that any thinking person can see are legitimate.

Let's not let this topic pass by -- again.

Great and essential conversation to have. I can't wait to "Represent" in the audience for this one!

Very timely topic. Tech conferences have to be cognizant of their audiences: we are diverse. Include us (women) by including us as speakers - and we are represented. When you don't include us, you lose our views and what we bring to the discussion, and everyone loses. A conference must.
