Description:
Workflows, Agents, Bots... Not only is our data going into the Net but our decision making processes as well. What constitutes “Me” and how carefully should we consider how much of that resides outside of my own skull? Who owns or has access to that part of us outside ourselves?
Questions
Answered:
  1. What parts of our decision making processes are we externalizing today?
  2. How does security and privacy relate not just to data but to processes?
  3. How much exposure to risk does this trend create?
  4. What are the benefits of pursuing this direction?
  5. Who has been thinking about this and what have they considered?
  6. What happens when more of me is outside my skull than inside?
  7. What remains for us to do if this continues?
  8. Is it Artificial Intelligence if the rules come from a Natural Intelligence?
  9. How much control will we have over this effort?
  10. What are some consequences for us as people?

A little more information on this panel can be found at http://PhilWheat.net .
This isn't a presentation/discussion about technology, but more a talk about what technologies have meant to us as thinking entities. It's happening - you'll see some of the question posed by the great thinkers in this space such as Vernor Vinge ("My kernel is out there in the System. Every time I'm there, I transfer a little more of myself."), William Gibson ("She's taking up a lot of ROM on some corporate mainframe, and her share of Kings won't come close to paying for what they had to do to put her there.") and others. We'll try to consider what we've already done, and what we're headed for as we move further forward into a world where what we are is no longer contained between our ears, but has leaked out onto silicon that is owned (at least partially) by others as well as yourself.
This panel will be co-presented by Christoph Schittko. Restrictions on co-presenters meant he wasn't on the original application.

Sounds like a great presentation. Makes me think of "The Age of Spiritual Machines" by Ray Kurzweil. Looking forward to it.
