- There is currently great debate in the mobile community, do we want applications or an open mobile web...or even both?! There are unique advantages with both. Applications are wonderful in the digitally disconnected world, where coverage is patchy. The mobile web is fantastic as it is easy to develop and deploy. Applications are easier to monetize, but there are some shining examples of monetization from the mobile web. In all of this, where does the user stand?
