If you are ever having a bad day or feel that life has dealt you a bad hand, I recommend that you visit reggiebibbs.com and I guarantee that you will laugh, enjoy and be inspired! Reggie was born with neurofibromatosis and his face and body are severly disfigured but you'd never know it by his attitude or outlook on life. He is truly an inspiration and I an so proud to call him a friend! Reggie deserves and needs an opportunity to spread his great energy to the rest of the world!
on 17/8/09
Reggie is a one-man army, taking personal resposibility in educating people about neurofibromatosis, through every channel available. He is one of my personal heroes and is certainly more than deserving of this opportunity. It would be a blessing for all who attend and hear him speak.

I've known Reggie for many years now. And have traveled from Pennsylvania to Texas to enjoy his company and conversation over lunch. His outlook on life, and his approach to promoting NF over the www is amazing. He would be a great panelist.

Thank you Jerry, Yes I would hope that I will be picked, so that I'll be able to spread awareness of Neurofibromatosos, as well as encouraging others with the same disorder to feel they can do what I do in my campaign.

Reggie is an inspiration. Everyone has a story and I really like Reggie's. What I love most is how Reggie embraced his condition and became a better person because of it. Many people can learn from their circumstances but Reggie evolves from his. He not only embraces but also raises awareness about his condition. He thought of the idea ‘Just Ask’ and then asked for help. Just Ask is now a local phenomenon.
I first learned of Reggie when watching a Neurofibromatosis public service announcement. I was intrigued and when I heard about his life experiences before and after that PSA, I was hooked. I started visiting www.reggiebibbs.com. When I read, the level of emotion Reggie shared touched me. Years later, I was blessed enough to meet him. His energy is incredible and he is a fun person. I believe I met him at the Houston Roller Derby (told you he was fun). Now, I feel like I could call him a friend.
SWSX is a great venue to help artists get their voice heard. The voice of Reggie Bibbs needs greater exposure. His message needs to expand and reach others; the world would be a better place. I sincerely hope SXSW chooses Reggie Bibbs to host a panel. It could just make the world a better place, at least his.

Yes, Reggie is a hero of mine. He's not a movie hero: a one-dimensional character who's always fighting for a cause. No. He has his ups and his downs, just like all of us. As I fight my own downs, I look to Reggie. He knows pain and he knows hopelessness, yet he consistently gravitates towards joy and seeing the good in others. He regularly aspires to lift others up. More attention should be given to souls like this in the world.

Reggie Bibbs has been an inspiration to so many people, so often that his place as a panelist is more than well-earned. No one is a more selfless and giving teacher and spokesperson for others facing neurofibromatosis. His compassion and good personal humor has also advanced understanding among the public in general.

I've given my vote to you and wish you all the best!
on 27/8/09
Reggie has a great story to tell. And his use of a clear and simple branding campaign "Just Ask!" has been executed very well across traditional and social media. Should be interesting!
on 27/8/09
Way to go Reggie. We are so proud that you are spreading the word! Together we can make a difference!

Reggie is a living example of what it means to want to help other people and to demonstrate that without regard to his own feelings. It would be very easy to hide out and resist meeting new people or talking about the disease he lives with every day. But instead Reggie understands how important it is for more people to be aware of this disease. Knowing Reggie helps us all to be more understanding of anyone who lives with such difficulties. SXSW is one more hugh step for Reggie to tell his story and for many more of us to have the opportunity to learn a valuable lesson from such a great teacher.
on 27/8/09
What can I say about Reggie, that hasn't been said before? How about he's a mans man. Complete with fears, accomplishments, competitiveness and everything else men have and face everyday. Over the last few years we have become good friends, close enough that if I had a brother, he would have to work very hard to get closer than Reggie and I have become. Two words come to mind when I think of Reggie; Strong & Sensitive. As it has been said by others here and elsewhere, you don't know yourself, unless you can say "I know Reggie Bibbs." He will find a way to be your friend if given even the briefest opportunity.

I've known Reggie since he was 14 and a newcomer to the cancer hosital scene. Not only is he an inspiration, he is brave and uncomplaining. Through his 21 surgries he comes out as a winner because of his strong character and desire to help others understand their part in living with Neurofibromatosis, a disease of the nervous system. I have to concur with Lou Congelio and Steve Bass, above, as to Reggie's character and warmth of personality! Also, he speaks well to audiences, live and TV, and has a store of information and personal eperience. Top that off with a fine sense of humor. SXSW would be missing something should Reggie not be chosen to speak!

I met Reggie a couple of years ago with Lou Congelio when I was working as a manager at an Italian Restaurant in Houston. I learned a little about Reggie then, but didn't really get to know him until recently when I started going to an impromptu musical jam session at Lou's house. Getting to know Reggie, performing with him and going to his website I was inspired by his story, honesty and his approachability. I was so inspired by his story I even wrote a song about Reggie called, "Just Ask." I wasn't particularly happy when my friend posted my performance of "Just Ask" on You Tube, but I got over it. I believe if it helps Reggie raise awareness for neurofibromatosis (NF) then I'm happy to swallow my pride and be honored to be a supporter and his friend. I agree with John Kuykendall when he wrote, "SXSW would be missing something should Reggie not be chosen to speak!"

Reggie is an amazing guy who has the love and motivation to go around helping others with no other reward than being good to others that might need it. The work he does to educate people about his condition is great and so selfless that it inspires many. He is so socially active that his work has a tremendous impact because it reaches more people than just passing out information bulleting on clinics. I believe he is a great candidate who has earned the love and respect of his community and as such he counts with all of our support.

Meeting Reggie and getting to know Reggie has been one of the best experiences of my life. He is so incredibly kind, easy to approach, fun, and inspiring. He has dedicated his life to spreading words of hope to ALL people, not only those with NF! I can honestly say that I hope my two boys grow up to be the man that Reggie is today! I am honored and blessed to have him in my life.

Reggie is far and away one of the best human beings I have ever had the privilege to know. His ability to use the Interweb and its associated technologies to get his message out there restores my faith in the Network. If he can't get a panel, then there is definitely a conspiracy. Or so I hear.

Sometimes these panel submissions are all about making more money, promoting a commercial brand, promoting oneself, or how to become more popular in an online world. This man, Reggie Bibbs, is all about helping others and sharing his very personal experience. I WANT to hear how he is making a difference and changing lives using technology and all the tools of the modern day. His story is unique, stirring, inspirational, and will burst your heartstrings.
