While RSS can seem mundane to those of us on the bleeding edge, large content providers are struggling with how to make best use of it. Particularly in the current economic environment companies are searching for ways to distribute targeted content more cheaply. No doubt there will be a lot of continuing innovation around simple syndication and lots of content currently distributed by email, HTML, etc. will begin migrating to RSS to take advantage of the parsing opportunities. Great idea and well-timed.

Here are 10 questions I plan to address in my presentation: 1. What is RSS? 2. How has RSS been used since its inception in 1999? 3. What's wrong with today's feed readers? 4. What can you expect out of a next-generation feed reader? 5. How are social networking and RSS related? 6. What is community RSS aggregation? 7. What is Attention.xml? 8. How does RSS allow you to create mashups? 9. What is Web 3.0/The Semantic Web? 10. Will RSS be around in five years and, if so, what will you be doing with it?

Feedhaus would be an excellent case study.

@Andrew Bays -- True, true. If this talk is selected, I plan to mention it, for sure. But this talk is not about Feedhaus. It's about many of the creative ways people are using RSS on the social networking scene and to create mashups. Feedhaus's big day in the sun came when it was nominated for a SXSW Web Award last year. This talk is a totally different ball of wax.
Do it today!
