Description:
How are popular online video creators making advertising work without losing the authenticity and credibility that are their biggest assets? A panel with real experience tackling these issues will talk about things they’ve learned, successes and failures, and emerging best practices for making sponsorships entertaining without selling your soul.

This discussion needs to happen. The balance between making money and keeping authentic is so hard.

If online video is going to evolve, then we're all going to need to find this answer. In the meantime, I will drink or wear anything in my videos for cash. Unless it is toxic. Then I'll only pretend to drink it (and cash upfront in case it causes harm to my body).

Felicia is the perfect person to talk about this, thanks to her work picking front-page features at YouTube and her experience in producing and writing web video, as well as some time working in film. Can't wait to see who joins her on the panel.

Felicia is awesome and this is a great topic! Vote this five stars.

Is this meant for content creators, or advertisers? It seems the advertisers are the ones that need the information, and need to learn from their mistakes! Either way, Felicia will take them all to school!

OK, these are the most comments I've seen on a panel idea yet. I think this means it has to happen. Go Felicia!

Aww thanks guys for being so supportive! With the recent unbuttoned/levis jeans campaign and the not really a pre-roll preroll, I have noticed that ad integration is a topic that really deserves some exploration. I'm hoping to provide examples of how are some entertainers are showcasing their advertisers and kick off a discussion with creators pioneering this integrated ad space.

Currently, I have a short list of who I'd like to join in this discussion, but if there is anyone that you would like to see on this panel, message me or leave their name in the comments.

Felicia is fantastic, a true champion of independent series on YouTube. The Guild wouldn't be what it is without her support. I'd love to see this panel because creatives connecting with advertisers is the future of web content.

Authenticity and credibility is currency on the web. Five stars for this panel, I expect it will be an important one for SXSW.

Great 5 star topic. We're looking at this from the Marketer's perspective, with our panel. It's also interesting to know, as a content creator, who you should or want to work with in the future.

but who is this panel sponsored by?

There are very few people who know more about internet video than Felicia -- combine that with her experience at YouTube and in the entertainment business, and there's really no one better to run this panel. Plus, Felicia's even ACTED in a web series -- Break a Leg -- she's got so much experience, she should be taking this panel on a world tour!

This is one of the biggest questions facing not just content creators, but the internet and the entertainment industry as a whole. Furthermore, I can't think of anyone better to shepherd us through these uncertain times than Felicia Williams herself. I hope she's available because if so I am definitely coming.
