Let me provide a little more information on the presentation we're planning. The case study we'll be showcasing is based on integrating an existing online information service with a new native iPhone application. We're going to include insight into the design process, the actual coding, and explore conceptually the potential for similar iPhone to Web service applications.

Technical topics covered:
- Intro to Objective C language features and iPhone SDK
- Web services API design and protocol selection
- Web service security
- "Hello World" of an iPhone to Web services stack

Other discussion:
- What we like and hate about iPhone development
- Web services APIs: potential mistakes and pitfalls
- Potential applications of iPhone to Web services integration

This sounds really cool. I suspect a lot of rich mobile apps are going to appear in the future, and not just on the iPhone. Getting started early in this kind of client environment could be very rewarding!

Been looking to tie my iphone into some management and reporting logic I already have. Separating the business logic to a web service would be easy then I could tie both my web app and iphone into the same logic. Then I wouldn’t have to run out of the bar if I have to check something out...heh.
