Just the fact that a guy from Garmin wants to do this is reason enough for me. I'm a huge Garmin fan and user. That said, I want to see geo (and other forms of location) being used first to empower the individual, then to get "social." We still have a long way to go with the former. Like, making Garmin products work with Mac and Linux and not just Windows.
