A shift is occurring in the world of politics. Campaigns are feeling a growing need to move online - learning to compete in a new world – a world where technology offers the average political entrepreneur a whole new level of empowerment. Our discussion will probe this idea, offering a glimpse into the future of global politics.

Politics are changing. Politicians at every level must embrace the reach of the Internet to compete in the digital age. An age where tech-savvy political entrepreneurs have unparalleled power to communicate to the public.

A great and fascinating subject and the core of what I'm about as well!

Hope you'll check my little blog... we're getting close to conducting a beta test!
CHAGORA is truly the other side of campaign finance reform!
CHAGORA is non-partisan (though like C-Span, it's users neither will nor should be)

This will be a tremendous discussion on a topic that is at the foundation of our society, but through the lens of utilizing technology as a tool. Sounds fascinating.

This idea addresses the heart of political problems in America today in that unless you have the money and corresponding platform to get your ideas across, you are often shouting into the wind. PIRYX promises to use digital age technology to make that platform a little easier to come by for the little guy. It is the first step in a revolution that will give politics back to the people and engender the level of transparency and accountability that will keep the American democracy healthy for the 21st century and beyond. Great job guys, can't wait to see it at SxSW!

With networking moving increasingly online, politics and technology have been on a crash course for over a decade. This talk should bring some new, fresh ideas to the table, and provide insight into the evolving world of political campaigning.

This sounds like a great topic. As an advertising ant worker, working in search, I often think/notice/realize that political campaigning and technology are taking politics to a whole other level. Campaigning was revolutionized with television, we are living through the next revolution!

Wow! Like Brain had previously stated, "Politics embraces technology to embrace the pop culture". This revolutionary idea could not have come at a better time. I can't wait to hear more about it!!!

I think this is a timely and worthwhile panel. Tom Serres and Naveed Lalani are the type of innovators that understand the worlds of politics and technology and are working to fuse the two together. Just as the buggy whip was eventually replaced by the internal combustion engine, our current forms of communication are being rapidly replaced by instant information. This is a powerful new tool and a panel such as this is perfect in a town like Austin where politics and high technology both have a home.

Technology is proving a significant benefit to campaigns during this election cycle and that trend is only going to grow. This type of panel is positioned right where SXSW needs to be.

I think this will be a great eye-opener for all people involved in the world of technology. Gaining a new understanding of such categories in a mix will permit more people to expand their horizons with projects, and how they interconnect with people from around the world.

I think this is a great topic, and a great idea. Tom and I share a desire to empower individuals and groups through technology and community. Keep up the good work guys.

If this program is going to do what I think its going to do... then exciting times are on the horizon. A revolution in who is involved and how politics is practiced.

I certainly want to hear the story behind how the idea came to be. With the backing you guys have, I believe we are experiencing technological history in the making. I'm not very tech savvy; its just a hunch, a feeling I share with most all the above. (haha, I just read the "legend" below...and this does justify my trip to SXSW :)

This concept truly embodies the type of innovation necessary at this point in our history. By enhancing the communication between the general public and politicians, and creating higher levels of transparency in the political process, this idea promises to increase the levels of responsibility and accountability of those in office to constituents. Needless to say, it is truly an exciting time in American history! Thanks Tom.

This is an awesome and inspiring topic. When mass media has been a past time to some extent, Politics has to find a way to break through its old version. I don't know much about politics but I do know how critical to get your idea across to right people at right time by taking right vehicle. Internet and technology today are empowering politics and adding new dimensions to it. This is an age of polidigism. Good job, Tom

PIRYX is exciting and there has never been a better time to have this discussion. What does the online political landscape look like in 2016? How will parties, campaigns, PACs, etc. use virtual mediums as social platforms going forward? Good stuff, Tom.
on 24/8/08
Hooray! For all of the reasons mentioned, this is a wonderful topic.
