Description:
Revolution begins at home, this will focus on 5 easy things you can do personally that will actually have an effect on a global level. Go vegan, ride a bike, stop buying crap, visit a different country, do something you love rather than something that pays the bills. Wake up and live.

The more research I do into the US food system (and general dependence on petrochemicals), the more I feel like there are so many problems are way too big for me to handle. I would love more tips to make me feel that I, as a single person, am making a difference.

Couldn't agree more with this topic. Sleeping through life is an awful way to be. There is always more to learn, count me in.

Sean is a very entertaining presenter, can't wait for this one. This may read like hippy love stuff, but I predict that Sean's 6th step is to buy guns, lots of guns.

Right on... I like the focus on "do" rather than "plan" / "try."

Hey Guys, I am not sure who is going to be speaking on this pannel, but I wanted to recommend/nominate someone. His name is Blake Mycoskie and he is the founder and Chief Shoe-Giver for a company out of LA called TOMS Shoes. He is from Dallas, via Austin, and started a shoe company that addresses basic needs for people around the world.

For Every pair of Shoe TOMS Sells, a pair is given to a child in need.

One for One.

To date they have given away over 115,000 pairs of shoes and in 2009 they are planning on giving away over 300,000 pairs. They have given them away in Argentina, Ethiopia, South Africa, the United States, and in 2009 are going to Haiti as well in conjunction with former President Clinton's CGI organization (Clinton Global Initiative).

They (TOMS) will be teaming up with former President Clinton to give away over 100,000 pairs of shoes in Haiti as a part of relief effort for re-building Haiti after they were ravaged by Hurricane Ike. Matt Damon, Wyclef Jean, and others are also apart of this group.

I fully believe that Blake would add so much to this panel as this business model is revolutionary (no one has ever done this before) and yet it's so simple. It's meeting Basic needs and their mission this Holiday season says it all.

SPEND LESS, GIVE MORE.

Thanks
