Welcome to Facebook. High School friends want to connect, your boss just joined, your co-worker's vampire keeps biting you, and your family is asking when you're coming to visit on your wall. The reality is we live very messy social lives, but the tools we're given in online social networks rarely if ever reflect this reality.

So how do we deal with this mess? We'll take a look at some design patterns being used to help keep our lives organized online, and talk about the areas that still need help.
