Man, how I can relate to this! And I wonder how it will be in the future as networks keep developing at an alarming rate...

Kristine was kind enough to ask me to be on this panel. I am known here in Austin for rejecting people on Facebook who I don't know (which leads to some interesting face to face discussions). However I believe Social Online Networks are just that. People you actually know.

Here is the infamous blog post I sent to people. http://www.fispace.org/2008/05/why-i-reject-you-on-facebook/.

Anyway Kristine is a great presenter and this topic should inspire a "lively" debate.

This will be a discussion more than a formal panel. We'll look at everything from managing your identity to why it really matters.

Full disclosure: I don't have very many friends myself and we need someone to give that "+1,000 friends and LOVE watching my twitter/friendfeed blow-up" *cough*(scobleriteous). If this is you, would love to have you join us! dm me at @gloriakt. If you don't know what that means, you're not qualified to be on this panel haha j/k

Adding more speakers:
Dave Brown of MySpace fame will be joining as well as Mike Chapman of Social Media Club fame

Should be an exciting cast of speakers!

I want to start a new social network that boots people off for making stupid comments. The first time you write something like "I don't think I like peanuts anymore", the social police steps in and automatically sends your name and comment to all your friends about how useless your comment is. The second time you write something dumb, ya know, like "zzzzz...I'm tired" (that's actually up there on my Facebook status updates right now), the social police kick you off the network and you're never allowed back in. This way, you are forced to write informative, witty comments and keep you on your toes.

I'm excited about being added. I love having friends that I'll never possibly meet. It makes me feel important. Geez, I've been hanging around the politicians too much. I'm looking forward to it.

I just wish I would have had this (facebook) years ago. Perhaps I would have been able to keep up with close friends and love ones since gone by. I view social networking like an evergreen, living "yearbook." Except it's always up to date and folks can easily keep tabs on each other. If my family was connected, perhaps I wouldn't forget birthdays.

I wonder what the next generation will do with the power to be and stay connected...

All I know is that Mike Chapman and Dave Brown are going down! REJECT WITH COMMENTS is the killer app.
