Description:
It's a feature not a bug, health and well-being are social and communal while our technology in this space is sterile and mechanical. How do we bring health technology into our communities.

As a techy person who used to work in the admin side of health care, I am really excited this topic is being addressed. Talk about a field that is extremely resistant to implement new tech and is hideously slow and inefficient. Really hope this panel takes off!

Excellent idea. As an RN and a writer who works mainly with new technology in health care, I would like to see this area really expanded.

Health care conferences are mostly wonk-ish where everyone pats each other on the back. Almost every health-care technology is corporate, bland and poorly functioning with anything but a positive user experience. I'd love to see SXSW's take on it. Not just eye-opening criticism but a look at potential solutions that work well in all the other spaces health care lags behind. Bet this would be one of the hottest sessions around.

Technology is solving so many problems across industries; why not apply some of these proven concepts to healthcare? As a technology nut and someone who cares greatly about health, well being, and longevity; I'm excited to see this type of panel gain some traction.

Empowerment is always a great idea/goal, especially when it comes to changing our lifestyle and health patterns. And what better way to entice people into taking control of their own health, than by an easy-to-use, and visually stimulating interactive environment! Kudos all around!!

Great topic - 5 stars! Billions of $’s are being spent on HC technology, but most to support underwhelming experiences for consumers. Technology should help create something bigger and better and yet I haven’t seen a health care company that has figured out how to do it. In many respects, technology is a commodity. The challenge is using it in a way that is smart and creative to give companies a competitive advantage.

Excellent topic. Working in the health care software space everyday. This topic is way overdue.

5 stars, opensource software being introduced and tuned by people in the field outperforms expensive top-down software. Expensive tools are being replaced by handy DIY-specialists, empowered by their peers who they can connect to on the net
Do it today!
