I hope this makes it in. Joe better be in his superhero outfit before and after the panel!

Being a firefox extension developer, I can relate to this. Even a small utility can have a huge impact when paired with the right values and ethics.

I met Joe about 6 months ago, and he has lots of great ideas for how to use Firefox as a platform for social change. His drive and enthusiasm would make for a great panel at SXSW!

Great idea for a panel looking forward to it ..

Browser addons are a great way to engage with people without needing to keep them going back to your website or picking you out of the noise in their inbox or feeds. And of course Firefox is by far the best browser to build add-ons for. My company builds firefox extensions, eg Interclue and Lazarus, and has helped Joe in the construction of ObamaFox and and the KnowMore extension, and I think he'd do a great job of presenting this topic in an enthusiastic way.

Go for it! I'd like to see a broader discussion of how Firefox in general is a better agent for social change.

Thank you everyone for your support of this proposal! It means a lot to me and I think speaks to the growing potential and interest in using Firefox as a "platform for social change." (borrowing Tom's phrase!)

I started a "Firefox Extensions for Social Change" Facebook group and invite you to join us - http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=13591489226 (We're on Delicious, too - http://delicious.com/tag/foxforgood)

We also just launched a Firefox extension inspired by the Obama Campaign! - Check it out here - http://www.obamafox.com
