Sheila is a great travel writer and experienced blogger. I've attended sessions where she has presented before and can recommend her without hesitation. This session will be lively!

This sounds like a winner to me. Shelia is always outspoken in our Austin Social Media Club meetings and very up on all the new tech.

Tentative panelists include:

*** Wendy Perrin, consumer travel editor at "Conde Nast Traveler" magazine and author of the Perrin Post blog - http://www.concierge.com/cntraveler/blogs/perrinpost/

*** Pam Mandel, writer/photographer and author of Nerd's Eye View - http://www.nerdseyeview.com/

*** Leif Pettersen, guidebook author ("Lonely Planet Guide to Romania and Moldova") plus his Killing Batteries blog - http://killingbatteries.com/ - and This is Why I Love Minneapolis (and Sometimes St. Paul) - http://thisiswhyiloveminneapolis.com/

***** From Sheila *****

Thanks very much to SXSWi for accepting this panel idea - I'll be speaking with Pam Mandel of Nerd's Eye View (http://www.nerdseyeview.com/) on Saturday, March 14, 2009.

Specific room and time are still TBD.

Follow me on Twitter at @SheilaS and Pam is @nerdseyeview

We plan to talk about writing compelling travel blog content, getting lots of posts out of even short visits or local travel, how to publicize your blog without being an annoying spammer, how travel/tourism PR folks can interact with travel bloggers and as many other topics and questions as we can cram into one hour.

Tweet us ahead of time with your suggestions!

We'd also like to arrange some sort of informal travel blogger tweetup during SXSWi, if we can find a good time and place.

See you there....

Whoa is me. I can't make it to SXSWi for your travel panel. Will you have a podcast or something for those of us left in the dust?

Hi readers,

The Blog Highways panel is confirmed for 3:30 - 4:30 pm on Saturday, March 14. Still working out room details, and possible traveler's meetup. Thanks!

Looking forward; I read a lot of travel blogs and am looking forward to hearing your perspective...

Nice!!

What websites are great for travel blogging, like blogs that I can insert photos into the text and story? I.e. I don't like myspace for this, because photos go on one spot, and blogs on another, and they can't be viewed together...

Who is liable if, my dog is attached to a cable in my yard that does not allow him to reach over my property line and does not allow him to sidewalk or sidewalk to mailbox and a no trespassing signs posted facing all directions, by protective nature bites a person wandering into my yard (dog is not on dangerous breed list) and please tell my husband the reason for registering a dog at the city clerk's office.
Nice traveling blog. Nice blog to post in. Traveling is my passion. I use to make holidays and outings. I do own some traveling blogs.

I run a couple of international destination blogs myself (related to overseas property) and this really does give a little more than the norm. Genuinely fantastic narrative and easy to get into. Great blog I have leant plenty from this.
