| Description | While the silver bullet of Live has not yet proven to make up for falling sales revenues in all levels of artists, it is still a substantial revenue stream, and importantly a valuable marketing tool, for any band. Few things are more important for an emerging artist than playing to a full house, making sure every penny spent on the road can be justifiable, if not a success. A much reviled activity from an industry point of view, what if there was more to P2P data than simply taking stock of what didn’t get bought? One might argue P2P data has great potential as an aid for selling tickets, booking sell out tours and plotting a course through the right population clusters to maximise the number of fans who can see a band while minimising the environmental impact of their travel. Simply put, if the data can signal where demand is growing, we can see where best to book shows. Does contentious P2P actually empower bookers, promoters and agents to get more through the doors? |
