Hi, I'm the person who suggested this panel. In addition to the named presenter Doc Searls (Linux Journal / Berkman Center for Internet and Society), other panelists I have in mind are: Adriana Lukas (Media Influencer); Fergus Burns (Nooked); Alan Patrick (Broadsight); Priya Prakash (Flirtomatic / Handmade Mobile); Nic Brisbourne (DFJ Esprit). More suggestions are welcome!

This is very topical and getting lots of attention in the business world with the rise of social media and consumer power. The cover story in BusinessWeek about customers taking matters into their own hands was a powerful mainstream endorsement of the idea. I'll be voting for this one.

I agree - but then I am working on VRM with Doc..;)

If this happens I'd like to see Umair Haque on the panel...

Wow, thanks for the interest and feedback so far! @ethanbauley Umair is a possibility - but I've also suggested him as the presenter for my other panel - Frankenstein's Brands (see http://snipurl.com/3es63)

Great idea for a panel. I second the vote for Fergus Burns (Nooked).

An interesting area to investigate. Alan Patrick should bring some rude sensibility to the discussion. (Note this is the traditional use of the word 'rude', ie: vigorous or hearty.) Note that one should avoid the branding boosters' trap of seeing people solely as consumers.

Having Doc present his theories, ideas, plans and progress on VRM will be the highlight of the conference. No one can bring more clarity to the issues than Doc. I vote absolutely YES!

I don't think VRM is the answer when the effectiveness of advertising declines.
What's in the world?
