One of the more interesting topics on the future of UIs - Lee Shupp explains it very well.

This should be a great panel. Check out Lee's program on kinetic computing from SXSW 2008 this past spring at: http://reviews.cnet.com/SXSW_Interactive_2008_Kill_your_mouse/4660-14013_7-6847831.html?tag=vid

I will be moderating this panel and Lee I put together this program.

Wanted to let you know that we have confirmed Dennis Wixon, Director of Research for Microsoft Surface -- and Kai Huang, CEO of Red Octane and creator of Guitar Hero.

We are also still working on having someone from Emotiv:

Dennis was great this summer at Adaptive Path's UX Week:

And Kai and Red Octane continue to have extreme success with Guitar Hero:

Lee inspires people with his spider sense of ethnography and behavioral trends in the industry. He is knowledgeable and insightful and great to listen to. The conference wouldn't be the same without this panel.

I've known Lee Shupp for almost 2 decades now. He has tracked and sometimes helped guide the direction of next gen user interfaces. In particular, his research and experience across ethno/cultural user groups brings a more realistic perspective. He is both a futurist and a realist. This SXSW panel would be richer and more interesting with Lee on board.

Looks like an awesome session. I've seen Lee present at several other conferences; he's engaging, insightful and always leaves several thought bombs in his wake. Most importantly, his wide-angle view of the future goes beyond the trend-of-the-minute and gives the "so what" to "what it all means." SXSW needs more speakers like this!

NUI's are the future of computing so very glad to see a panel dedicated to this topic. I can't think of the last time I used a traditional computer mouse -- seems I do everything on my iPhone or with touch screen technology! Looking forward to this panel.
