Everyone agrees that data/api mashups are powerful and compelling - and that non-technical people should be able create them - but to date every product intended to open generalized mashup creation to non-engineers has been a big flop - What are the UI & technical innovations needed to solve this?

My goodness it is a piece of cake with tools like clipmarks and Orchestrate (http://grid.orch8.net/extractions/grab). I dont see web programming is any difficult, it is click click and drag henceforth......
