| Description | Remember when you first heard of these social media thingies? They sounded fantastic. They could do all sorts of great things. You began to fantasize about images of happy customers, better bottom lines, and perhaps a much needed vacation to an exotic locale. Everyone was talking about how incredible social media is and how if you started employing these tools you would reach a new height of nirvana. After much cajoling and many pitches later, management finally agreed to let you lead a social media initiative. Fast forward. Congratulations on celebrating your first year. As with all relationships, it isn’t all fun and games. It’s been hard work. You have had many successes and as a result your organization knows what social media is, understand its value, and some are actually using it. But what’s next? What happens after that first year that management agreed to let you “experiment with social media”? This session will focus on what happens after Year One. No two organizations are alike and how you grow and cultivate your social media strategy will depend on a number of factors. Through our discussion, we will help you learn how to prepare yourself and your organization for these changes, customize our suggestions for your business, practical tips for managing these changes, methods for implementing social media, having the process conversation and how to prepare for the next big thing. |

| Supporting Material | We will be doing some work as a lead up to this discussion to ensure we are on target with what people want to talk about. We know our topic can be broad so we will crowdsource what areas to drill down in since we know people want details and real practial information. All of us are big believers in this. I am positive we will be talking about evaluation, measurement and reporting since community wide this is a topic of great discussion. Please let us know if you have any questions on our plans for this work prior to our session. |
