Internet ad spending totaled $7.3 billion for the fourth-quarter of 2007, about 28 percent more than the same period in 2006, according to IDC. For the 2007 calendar year it reached $25.5 billion, representing year-over-year growth of 27 percent. As online ad spending continues to increase, brands and agencies are finding new and valuable ways to reach targeted audiences. One way they have found to accomplish this is by partnering with vertical ad networks such as Glam Media (women) and Federated Media (technology). As vertical ad networks continue to grow in scale and depth, they begin to rival what traditional media has long provided.

Often times designers and developers' relationships are contentious. Designers want features that would require two Googles to run and developers want features that nobody but the nerdiest of the nerds would care about. This panel will showcase some of the top designers and developers who have worked through their differences and feel they're making better products as a result. Sometimes designers know users' needs best and sometimes developers can enhance a feature with their innate understanding of the system. Knowing this, why can't we all just get along?

The internet gives us the largest, growing, most inclusive, reality show ever seen. Not only are we actively broadcasting our own lives, but we are assigning agents to passively broadcast our lives as well. In a short period of time, individual privacy has lost its value and we all find ourselves scrambling for our 15MB of fame. What is the value exchange that compels people to broadcast details about their lives? What experiences emerge when privacy is no longer a barrier to contextually relevant interactions? Will there be a backlash of people taking back and guarding their privacy? Let's throw a few stones and see what breaks.
