Natural User Interfaces (NUIs) are the next evolution of human-computer interaction. Creating applications that realize the potential of a NUI experience is not as simple as porting a application to another interface. What interaction paradigms do we need to discover and which ones do we forget when designing and building multi-touch, motion gesture, voice, and social computing experiences?

With a myriad of bite size applications that exist with open APIs, we still see applications that rely on form pushing and list generation interaction models. Delivering experiences beyond forms and lists requires new thinking, design, and technologies that innovate user interactions and visualize data efficiently, with no compromise in performance. Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) aim to deliver high fidelity experiences through the use of new tools and technologies on multiple channels such as web, mobile, and out-of-home applications. What are these new tools and technologies, what are considerations of appropriate usage, and what do RIAs look like?

It now seems the foundations of user-centered design are now disintegrating. Some suggest that the practice of user-centered design returns little value. Previously fundamental techniques, such as usability testing and persona development, are now regularly under attack. Is it time for user-centered design to evolve? Should something else occupy the center of design?

I have devised architecture for developing websites that allows for search engine friendly Silverlight web sites. My method involves using HTML for the purpose that Tim Berners-Lee had in mind, content. All of the site content will be housed in Plain Old Semantic HTML (POSH). This way if the person viewing your web site does not have Silverlight installed they can still view all of the content of the site. Coupled with CSS and JavaScript this "No-Silverlight" version of the site can be quite compelling. However, if the user has the Silverlight plug-in then the rich interactive interface comes out and the site dazzles the viewer.
